Jessye Norman School of the Arts community programming has developed from a need to fully and responsibly use the assets under our stewardship to promote the mission of the school and further the cultural and educational growth of the community. In 2008, we received an overwhelmingly generous gift, our building, from Mr. Peter Knox. With 18,000 square feet and nearly 50 hours a week of idle building time, our staff, and board of directors are in the process of creating an accessible, affordable and value based series of community art classes for the general public.

All proceeds from our Community Arts Programming go to support our free after-school program. CLICK below for registration details.

The Homeschool Program, which resulted from a deliberate working partnership with the Fort Gordon Homeschool Association is the first expression of community classes. Since the program began in August of 2015, we've conducted hundreds of classes, established a partnership with the YMCA to provide an exercise component, and introduced a preschool class to add content for children under 6 years of age.

We are tremendously grateful to everyone involved in helping to grow the Jessye Norman School of the Arts and to truly Represent Something Larger than Ourselves!
Thanks and see you at school!
